About Me

My name is Sophie King.

I am currently studying Illustration at Portsmouth University. My main areas of interest are Photography, Digital Media and Collage. I like to use a mixture of media to make up one image whether that is done by photo manipulation, using Photoshop, or layering up drawn items.

Likes and Dislikes.

I like reading, writing, photography and watching Disney movies. I enjoy food and baking cakes. I don’t like horror movies and arriving at Greggs and there are no Steak Bakes left.

Who inspires me?

I take a lot of inspiration from Lauren Child, well known for Charlie and Lola. I enjoy the way she crafts characters both by hand and digitally, and then creates a world for those characters to live in. Since GCSE I’ve followed her work and started to use her style in my own way.

I love any type of photo manipulated art, using different photos to build up an entirely new image. One artist I can relate to for this type of illustration is Erik Johansson.
